Attention Bunnies! New Jeans members announced ahead of their Japanese debut and sold out Tokyo Dome Fanmeetings.

K-Pop groups collaborating with brands is nothing new, but nobody does it like New Jeans. In conjunction with their upcoming Japanese debut album, Supernatural, New Jeans has unveiled an exciting collab with famed Japanese artist Takashi Murakami.

Murakami is known worldwide for his vibrant, comical art. He has previously collaborated with Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Pharell Williams, and Billie Eilish and was the first Japanese artist to have a solo exhibition at The Palace of Versailles in France.

It’s a big deal that the artist is now partnering with New Jeans. The collab was first revealed through the MV teaser for “Right Now,” which features New Jeans members as animated characters drawn by Murakami and also includes Murakami’s signature flower.

New Jeans creative director and ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin then posted a series of behind-the-scenes photos taken during the conception of the video with Murakami, showcasing a cheery atmosphere despite the ongoing public feud between her and parent company HYBE Label.

Takashi Murakami isn’t the only Japanese artist who’s partnering with New Jeans. In the early image teasers for ‘Supernatural’, the girls are seen traversing town in outfits designed by Japanese streetwear icon Hiroshi Fujiwara. The distinctively Y2K styling had the girls wearing baggy jeans, bucket hats and oversized tees emblazoned with Fujiwara’s signature graphics.

Fujiwara is considered the godfather of streetwear in Japan, marking another impressive coup for New Jeans. A group that debuted only less than two years ago did that!

The release date of this collaboration is still TBD, building even more anticipation for fans.

Although the girls are busy with their Japanese activities, they are also gearing up for a Korean comeback with the single New Jeans album ‘How Sweet.’ A pre-release single, ‘Bubble Gum,’ was released on YouTube in late April. Korean New Jeans album jackets, the group has prepared two adorable new concepts: one featuring quirky, old-school visuals (Danielle’s Julia Roberts curls!) and another one, a cute Powerpuff Girls collab edition.

Conclusion

If you haven’t circled your calendars, How Sweet will be out May 24, while Supernatural is due to be released June 21. After that, the girls will have their first Japanese Fan Meetings, Bunnies Camp 2024, on June 26 and 27. Held in the historic Tokyo Dome, the two dates have already sold out, with second-hand tickets going at insane rates, proving their massive demands.
